Hz. Peygamber 23 yıllık risâlet görevinde birçok zorluk ve engellemelerle karşılaşmıştır.
Bu bağlamda onu en fazla meşgul edenler şüphesiz Mekkeli müşrikler olmuştur.
Onlar başlangıçta çok da önem vermedikleri bu yeni oluşumun giderek güçlendiğini
ve alışageldikleri inanç ve yaşantı şeklini tehdit ettiğini gördükleri zaman Hz. Peygamber
ve Müslümanlara en ağır işkence ve zulümler yapmaktan geri durmamışlardır.
Önceleri alay etmeyle başlayan bu şiddetli muhalefet, giderek iftira ve sözlü sataşmaya,
ardından fiilî müdahale ve işkenceye, daha sonra ambargoya ve nihayetinde de silahlı
mücadeleye dönüşmüştür. Müşriklerin birçok sebebe matuf olarak geliştirdikleri bu
aşırı muhalefet hareketlerinde önemli müşrik liderlerinden birisi olan Ebû Süfyân’ın
ortaya koymuş olduğu tavır genelde diğerleriyle benzer karakterler arz etse de özelde
birtakım farklı hususiyetler göstermektedir. İşte biz bu çalışmamızda Ebû Süfyân’ın
risâlet görevinde Hz. Peygamber’e karşı sergilemiş olduğu tutum ve davranışları ve
bunların altında yatan nedenleri ortaya koymaya çalışacağız.
Abstract
Prophet Muhammad had encountered many difficulties and obstacles in his 23-year
prophethood. In this context, those who occupy him too much are undoubtedly the
Polytheists in Mecca. When they saw this new formation, which they did not attach
much importance at the beginning, was getting stronger and threatened adopted faith
and way of life, they carried out the most severe torture and persecution to Prophet
Muhammad and Muslims. This violent opposition that started with derision had gradually
been transformed into slander and brickbat, then to actual intervention and torture,
later on to embargo and finally to armed struggle. In these extreme opposition movements
that polytheists have developed for many reasons, attitude of Abu Sufyan, one
of the important polytheist leaders, generally shows similar characteristics to those of
others, but it shows a number of different characteristics in particular. In this work we
will try to reveal Abu Sufyan’s attitudes and behaviors that were exhibited against the
Prophet in his prophethood and the underlying reasons for them.
